Central agencies are assisting the Uttarakhand government to prepare plans and rescue teams are on standby after hundreds of buildings in Joshimath developed cracks.
ਜੋਸ਼ੀ ਮੱਠ ਉਤਰਾਖੰਡ ਦਾ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਖੇਡਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਅੱਜ ਇਹ ਖ਼ੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਅਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਕਾਨਾਂ ‘ਚ ਤਰੇੜਾਂ ਆ ਗਈਆਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹੇਠਲੀਆਂ ਕੱਚੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਖਿਸਕ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਉੱਚੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ‘ਤੇ ਬਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੁਆਲਿਓਂ ਦਰਿਆ ਸ਼ੂਕਦੇ ਗੁਜ਼ਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੇਠੋਂ ਕੱਢੀ ਗਈ ਸੁਰੰਗ ਅੱਜ ਵਾਲੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੱਸੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

Notably, Joshimath Municipal Chairman Shailendra Pawar said huge cracks appeared in the houses due to water leakage from inside the ground in the Marwadi ward. The teams from National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have also been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure, Chamoli Chief Development Officer (CDO) Lalit Narayan Mishra said on Friday.
